Errata to the "4TeX for Windows" manual
The manual 4TeX for Windows contains some
errors. Below is a list of errors that we are aware of, and their
corrections. If you found any errors that are not listed here, please
report them to us.
- Page xvii:
A line mentioning Siep Kroonenberg
as the designer of the cover page is missing.
- Page 23:
In item 2 the text '(page 6.9)' should read '(page 69)'.
- Page 47:
The address of the NTG is wrong: it
should be:
Plantage Kerklaan 65/1
1018 CX Amsterdam
- Page 49: gust-l's listserver address should be listserv@man.torun.pl
- Page 318:
Sometimes spell-checkers can be too clever. Or their operators too
stupid :-). Evidence follows:
In the last paragraph, before the example code, both instances of the text
'\"e' should read 'ë'. The first instance of '\"\i' should read
'ï'.
In the example code at the bottom should read as follows:
\catcode`ë=13 % active
\catcode`ï=13 % active
\defë{\"e}
\defï{\"\i}
Now you can write `geëerd' and `geïnd'.
- Page 337:
The text 'by T. Knappen,' should read 'by W. Schmidt, J. Knappen,'.
- Page 345:
In the 'Input' columns of tabel 17.1 "ò" should read "\`o";
"ó" should read "\'o"; 'ô' should read '\^o';
'ö' should read '\"o'; 'ae' should read '\ae'; 'AE' should read '\AE'.
The example code in section 17.3.8 should read:

- Page 379:
In the last line of section 17.16.1 the text 'instead of ö' should
read 'instead of \"o'.
- Page 401:\endtext should read \stoptext.
- Page 441:
The example code on the bottom of the page should read:
e-acute = é, i-umlaut = ï, n-tilde =
ñ, o-grave = ò, c-cedille = ç,
u-circonflex = û, A-umlaut = Ä
- Page 488:
The 'license type' of the program 'poster' should be '?'.
- Page 492 and 503: Hoekwater's article 'Comparing ConTeXt and LaTeX'
is not on the cdrom, but you can get it
here.
