Color
A unique feature of 4Spell is action color highlighting. This
means that while checking the words in your document
words are colored according to the action triggered. Hence
coloring indicates how 4Spell interpreted a word or what it has done
to it (change, ignore, automatically correct, etc.). Looking at the
color of a word will give you a clear visual indication of what happened.
You can select your favorite colors:
- Text
-
This is the (foreground) color of the text.
- Text background
-
This is the background color of the text.
- Commands
-
This color is used to indicate that the text is a
command which is skipped during
spell-checking.
- Mathematics
-
This color is used to indicate that the text is a
mathematical text
that is skipped during spell-checking.
- Comments
-
This color is used to indicate that the text is a
comment and skipped by the spell checker. Note that the
beginning of a comment is specified in the "Comment

- Parameters
-
TeX and other formats use macros with parameters. These
parameters can be skipped during spell-check and this
color will indicate that it was a parameter.
- Replaced
-
If a word is not found in the dictionaries and you decide to
replace this word by something, this color will be used as an
indication. This makes it easy to see which words were
replaced.
- Skipped
-
If a word is not found in the dictionaries and you have
decided to skip the word, this color is used as an
indication.
- Autofixed
-
If a word is in the AUTOFIX list and
is automatically replaced by a correct word, this color is used as an
indication.
- User wordlist
If a word is not found in the dictionaries you can add it
to your own user wordlist. It can
be useful to see whether a word was found in the dictionary or in
your own word list. If a word is found in the user wordlist this
will be used as an indication.
